What do you treat?
We treat substance use disorders and mental health conditions — and, very often, both together (dual diagnosis). On the substance side, that includes:
- Alcohol
- Stimulants — cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription stimulants (Adderall, Ritalin)
- Opioids — heroin, fentanyl, and prescription painkillers (hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine)
- Benzodiazepines — including Ativan and Valium
- Marijuana
On the mental health side, we treat anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, trauma, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. Because addiction and mental health so often go hand in hand, treating both at once (dual diagnosis) is central to recovery that lasts.
What levels of care do you offer?
- Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): full-day structured care with clinical and medical integration — our most intensive level.
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): several sessions a week, built for clients balancing treatment with work, school, or parenting.
- Individualized Intensive Program (IIP): a fully customized plan tailored to your specific barriers, trauma, and goals (available as a private/cash-pay option).
Every level includes individual therapy, group sessions, psychiatric support, and case management — with telehealth and hybrid scheduling available.
How do I know which program is right for me?
It depends on the severity of the addiction or mental health condition, whether co-occurring needs are present, your home environment, and your schedule. A brief, confidential assessment with our team identifies the right starting level of care — and you can step up or down as you heal. Reach out at (855) 619-5383 and we’ll walk you through it.
Does insurance cover treatment in Los Angeles?
Most major health plans cover medically necessary addiction and mental health treatment, often including PHP and IOP. We’re in-network with both HMO and PPO plans from Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Health Net, Optum (UnitedHealthcare), and Blue Cross Blue Shield. We also accept some out-of-network PPO plans, such as Aetna PPO. Some individual plans have exclusions, so the fastest way to know your specific benefits is a free, no-obligation verification — we’ll check your coverage and explain any out-of-pocket costs before you commit. (Our IIP program is available as a private/cash-pay option.)

Frequently asked questions
Is outpatient addiction treatment effective?
Yes. For many people, structured outpatient programs like PHP and IOP are clinically effective — especially when they treat co-occurring mental health conditions and include relapse prevention and aftercare. The right level of care depends on individual needs, which we assess before you begin.
Do you treat mental health along with addiction?
Yes. We specialize in dual-diagnosis care, treating substance use alongside conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and trauma — and we also treat mental health conditions on their own.
Do you offer detox?
We don’t provide detox on-site. We offer outpatient treatment — PHP and IOP — for substance use and mental health, including dual diagnosis. If you still need to detox first, we can help point you to the right next step, then continue your care with us.
Does insurance cover treatment at Totality?
We’re in-network with both HMO and PPO plans from Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Health Net, Optum (UnitedHealthcare), and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Can I do treatment remotely?
Yes. We offer telehealth and hybrid in-person/remote scheduling across California.
Is treatment confidential?
Yes. Your inquiry and treatment are confidential and protected under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
